IrishFest Atlanta Builds an Annual Tradition with the Best in Irish Music, Dance, Sports & Culture

Atlanta, GA -The fourth annual IrishFest Atlanta promises to be the best yet with a lineup of all-star musicians, dancers, cultural events and vendors.

Music & Dance:

Concerts begin Friday night, November 4th with the Grammy nominated duo of Irish fiddler, Liz Carrol and guitarist/singer, John Doyle.  On Saturday the world class lineup begins with The Pride of New York will perform, featuring Irish whistle player and flutist Joanie Madden who is widely known for her work with the group Cherish the Ladies; The Yanks, featuring three-time All-Ireland fiddle champion Dylan Foley; and dancer Shannon Dunne, who the Washington Post referred to as “spirited and fun.”  Full line-up at www.irishfestatlanta.org.

Workshops & Culture:

Saturday also features workshops with each of our featured performers including sessions for Irish fiddle, button accordion, bodhrán (Irish frame drum), Irish whistle, Irish flute, song, and dance. A variety of cultural programs scheduled include an introduction to the Irish language, a session on how to take photographs in Ireland, an Irish instrument petting zoo, and an Irish sports demonstration.

Fun for Everyone

Events include something for all interests and ages – an Irish tea with the Irish Consul General, story-telling, cheese tasting by Kerrygold, and an Irish market place with vendors from as far away as Wisconsin.  The Marketplace Stage also features Atlanta musicians and dancers throughout the day. A favorite feature for the adults returns as patrons learn how to pull the perfect pint (of Guinness, of course) and learn the nuances of whiskey in a special tasting,

IrishFest will be Nov. 4 & 5 at the Holiday Inn Perimeter/Dunwoody, 4286 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, Ga. 30341. Parking is free.
