The Carnival of Cultures is an annual event highlighting the varied cultures that enrich WRFG programming and reflect Atlanta’s diverse population. This year, the carnival will feature Caribbean dancers and drummers, a juggling troupe, and live musical performances that include the rhythms of Africa and the Caribbean.
There will be a buffet of international foods, as well as a silent auction. Auction items will include art and crafts, textiles and jewelry, clothing and decorative items from around the world, as well as certificates for restaurants and services.
In addition, there will be a chance to win three big prizes: a pair of passes for a year of shows at Blind Willie’s blues club; a fantastic New Orleans getaway; and a weekend staycation at a Castleberry Hill loft, complete with a dinner prepared for two.
Admission is $20. Children 12 and under may attend for free.
For 43 years, WRFG 89.3FM has served as Atlanta’s only independent, noncommercial radio station with a commitment to sharing progressive information and handpicked quality music.
All proceeds from the carnival will benefit WRFG 89.3FM.
