Are you ready for a family-friendly weekend of fun and excitement on the Flint River?
Join the Georgia Conservancy and the Gerald I. Lawhorn Scout Camp on September 10 – 11 for an adventure weekend that includes outdoor recreation, bluegrass and great food!
The Flint River Family Adventure will kick off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 10 at the Gerald I. Lawhorn Scout Camp in Molena, GA and will include activities for adults and children including archery, rock climbing, zip-line and hiking during the afternoon. Zip-line age limit is 13 years old.
Many of the activities are “self-guided” and guests will be given a property map and instructions on how to make it to each activity – or lead your own hike!
The fun will continue with a barbecue dinner, bluegrass concert, guest speakers, campfire-n-s’mores, an “owl prowl” and a campout (various camping arrangements provided, see trip specifics).
Sunday morning’s family-friendly paddle trip on the Flint will launch at 10:00 a.m. Canoe and paddling equipment is provided. Rivers Alive is sponsoring the paddle on Sunday and will provide free Rivers Alive shirts for folks who pick up trash on the river!
