August Wilson’s work is back for the first time in FIVE years! True Colors Theatre Company presents August Wilson’s classic, King Hedley II. In a world filled with uncertainty, an ex-con with gritty determination, fury and grief fights against his painful past in order to rebuild a new life. In a 1980s inner city Pittsburgh neighborhood taken over by urban blight, King dreams about opening his own business using the money he has made selling stolen refrigerators. Passionate and soulful King, along with his mother, wife, friends and next-door neighbor, will capture your attention with their wisecracking sense of humor and their insightful and fiery exchanges. King Hedley II, as woven by one of our greatest storytellers, will resound like a deep, spirited voice. Don’t miss this classic performance by a cast of True Colors favorites including Neal Ghant (Remember the Titans/Being Mary Jane), E. Roger Mitchell (Quad), and Tonia Jackson (Greenleaf). Directed by Jamil Jude with original music by Matthew Head (Greenleaf).
