McLovins

Inspired by an eclectic mix of influences like The Meters, The Band and The Flaming Lips, members Jason Ott, Jake Huffman, Justin Berger, and Atticus Kelly combine their songwriting skills with extended improvisations and instrumental ingenuity.

Taking a page from their jam band forefathers, McLovins always try to keep their audiences guessing at what’s to come. Their eclectic setlists and individual musical personas define the band’s live shows. Hailing from Hartford, Connecticut, McLovins have appeared at Gathering of The Vibes, Mountain Jam, The Peach Festival and the legendary Nateva Music Festival, as well as many acclaimed venues across the country. They have also performed with some of the most influential artists on the scene, including Buddy Guy, George Porter, Jr. and Oteil Burbridge.

Recently the band cut an album with Emmy, Grammy, and Tony award winning producer Bill Sherman in New York City’s East Village. The album was released this October and the band is currently on tour. The band continues to evolve, bringing their distinctive, jam-rock productions across the country. Every tour brings a unique energy.

Hayley Jane and the Primates

Hayley Jane and the Primates deliver a genre-bending sound that is hard to define and a live performance that has started to create a serious buzz in the Northeast. The Primates’ music draws inspiration from a variety of styles, including 60s/70s rock and pop, old musical theater, folk, blues, soul, reggae, psychedelic, funk, bluegrass, and country. Their catchy songs have been praised by a wide range of music lovers for successfully combining a diverse sound with clever, over-the-top lyrics and Vaudevillian style storytelling. However you decide to categorize the Primates musically, their on-stage energy, skilled musicianship, theatrics, and group improvisation take you over a landscape of emotion that will leave you wanting more.

In May 2012, The Primates released their first EP entitled Color Me, which has been described as “brilliant, brave, innocent, tangled and cutting edge…genius” -Scarlet’s Picks

The band was awarded winner of the New England Music Awards’ Roots/Americana act of the year. The band’s first full-length album, Gasoline, engineered by Brian Wallace, was recorded during their first west coast tour and released in 2014. The tour kicked off at the iconic Whisky a Go Go and ended at Qualcomm Stadium for Monday Night Football.

The band has been billed to play at music festivals including Gathering of The Vibes, Catskill Chill, FloydFest, Strange Creek, Wormtown, Camp Creek, Jerry Jam, Disc Jam, Great North, and many more. The band has shared bills with Dopapod, Perpetual Groove, The Nth Power, Zach Deputy, Pink Talking Fish, Dumpstaphunk and many more.

Recently featured in the RELIX “Women Who Rock” Issue, Hayley Jane and the Primates spent August 2016 recording their second full-length album at More Sound Recording Studio in Syracuse, NY. The album is being produced by Craig Brodhead and engineered by Jason “Jocko” Randall for release in 2017.
