October 1968, the United States took gold and bronze medals in the summer Olympics. Amidst the cheers of happiness, 2 young athletes, recognized the need to stand in solidarity with those who were oppressed back in the United States. Today, 50 years later, you are cordially invited to hear from Dr. Tommie Smith as he sheds light on his life and the lasting impact of his defiant moment in his newest book Silent Gesture: The Autobiography of Tommie Smith.
