U*Space Gallery present The Free Will Ensemble’s production of
SIMULACRA
by
Terence E Jackson
The unexpected return of a man to his family home, sets in motion a psychological battle between himself and his siblings. Waged from behind their masks of civility, revelations and accusations ignite as it becomes all too clear that sometimes, the ties that are supposed to bind us are the very ones that eventually tear us apart.
Atlanta based playwright Terence E Jackson’s ‘Simulacra’ is a not-to-be-missed evening of theatre that looks at the lengths we go to in order to hold onto the past and preserve expectations. As the play unfolds, it becomes apparent that to rely solely on the fallibility of memory is a tricky thing, especially when it is shaped by selfish needs and manipulative fictions. ‘Simulacra’ explores themes of family, power, intergenerational trauma and sexuality.
