Spelman College and Morehouse College will host the Spelman-Morehouse Christmas Carol Concert from Friday, December 2 to Sunday, December 4, 2016. The annual collaboration, featuring the Spelman and Morehouse Glee Clubs, is an enduring holiday tradition. This year, the ensembles will celebrate their 90th anniversary. The Atlanta community is invited to join the Glee Clubs as they lift their voices in holiday cheer.
The Spelman College Glee Club will debut a new song, “Let it Snow,” composed by senior Britni Ruff. Also new this year, an all-female band made up of Spelman alumnae and musicians from across metro Atlanta will accompany the Glee Clubs.
The performance schedule is as follows:
- Friday, Dec. 2, 7:30 p.m. – Morehouse Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel **Seating is available first come, first seated.
- Saturday, Dec. 3, 7:30 p.m. – Spelman Sisters Chapel **To date, seating is available in an overflow venue on campus.
- Sunday, Dec. 4, 6 p.m. – Morehouse Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel **Seating is available first come, first seated.
For more than 50 years, the Spelman College Glee Club has performed and maintained a renowned reputation of choral excellence. As one of the premier performing organizations at Spelman College, the Glee Club performs at a wide range of events. They have had the privilege of traveling and performing internationally in places like Brazil and Canada.
