Relive the pride and spirit of the 1996 Olympic Games as the Georgia Historical Society and the Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA) dedicate a new Georgia historical marker recognizing the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Monday, November 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. Speakers include Billy Payne and Ambassador Andrew Young, architects of the bid for the Olympic Games; Vince Dooley, Georgia Historical Society Chairman; and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed. The historical marker will be erected at Centennial Olympic Park Fountain Plaza, 235 Andrew Young International Boulevard in Atlanta. The event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the Marietta Deck.
