8th Annual Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigil

WHAT:
Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV), Georgia’s first, largest and most experienced nonprofit working to end domestic violence, will host its 8th annual Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigil in honor of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October. The event will take place at the Intercontinental Buckhead in the Windsor Garden on October 16, 2019 from 6 – 7:30 p.m.

The event recognizes those who have lost their lives to intimate partner violence and gives loved ones a chance to grieve together while raising awareness. PADV is inviting the community to this year’s Candlelight Vigil to light candles and listen to powerful testimonies from survivors. Last year’s event recognized nearly 100 victims with over 100 supporters in attendance.
For event information, contact Nordene Bartley at nordene.bartley@padv.org.

WHO:
PADV is currently the largest nonprofit domestic violence agency in Georgia, serving metro Atlanta since 1977. Their mission is to end the crime of intimate partner violence and empower its survivors. PADV helps c21 to transform the lives of approximately 20,000 women and children every year through emergency intervention, education, violence prevention and long‐term advocacy. This year’s Candlelight Vigil is in collaboration with Ahimsa House, the Atlanta Volunteers Lawyers Foundation’s Domestic Violence Program, Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network, International Women’s House, Raksha, Inc., Securus House and Tapestri.
