Women in Film & Television Atlanta (WIFTA) 2017 Gala will take place on Saturday, November 11th at Havana Club in Buckhead, as a “Monte Carlo Casino” themed night. The annual event honors entertainment professionals whose talent and services have made a significant impact on the industry and celebrate the women in film and television of Atlanta. Lionsgate Motion Picture Group’s President of Physical Production, Donna Sloan, and Georgia Department of Revenue’s State Revenue Commissioner Lynne Riley, will be recognized for their contribution to building a strong, diverse film industry within the state of Georgia.
Donna Sloan will be honored with WIFTA’s Outstanding Contribution Award for her leadership and commitment to providing production and filming opportunities to Georgia including notable projects, the Hunger Games franchise, and Atlanta’s own Tyler Perry, Madea films. Lynne Riley will receive the Georgian Award for her commitment and success in attracting top-level film productions to the state and creating jobs for skilled Georgians. “We are elated and proud to honor these two women, who have each provided immense opportunities for women in film and television in Atlanta to make their own marks in our growing entertainment industry,” said Cheryl Jenkins, WIFTA President. “They embody the WIFTA mission of advancing the portrayal of women in the industry and keeping them at the forefront of innovative and new ideas. We look forward to celebrating their achievements at this year’s gala.”
