Concrete Jungle’s Spectacular Fruit Ramble and Fundraiser

On Sunday, May 21st, Concrete Jungle invites friends and neighbors to see the city through
their eyes: “Fruit Goggles,” as they call it. At the annual ramble, participants will tour 20+ fruit trees in Virginia-Highland, learning about the fruitful abundance found in yards, parks and on the side of the road. Ramblers will see serviceberries, blueberries, pomegranates, persimmons, peaches, mulberries, apples, pears and gingko trees and even sample some of the fruits! The Ramble culminates in a carnival at Orpheus Brewery. Here, Ramblers will get to enjoy
handmade, fruit-themed carnival games for kids of all ages (think: catching falling apple
simulations and apple whittling contests) and a brewery tour and seven 5 oz samples of Orpheus beer for adults. The Ramble is Concrete Jungle’s largest fundraiser of the year. All proceeds from the Ramble will allow Concrete Jungle to expand their harvesting efforts to farms and orchards outside the city, ultimately providing the means to donate more produce to shelters and food pantries.
