Indigenous People: Land Rights and Environmental Injustices

Join the Center for Civil and Human Rights for National Native American Heritage month for a discussion on the unique relationship between Indigenous people and the American government.

LeAnne Howe is an Edison Distinguished American Literature Professor at the University of Georgia and member of the Choctaw tribe, as well as an activist for Native rights in the United States. She aims to connect Indigenous issues and knowledge to literature. As well as a professor, Howe is an author who will be publishing a new work entitled Savage Conversations in 2019.
