As Memorial Day approaches, it is time to pause for a Moment of Remembrance. A national awareness and reverence, honoring those Americans who paid the ULTIMATE Sacrifice while defending our Nation and its values.
The Annual Memorial March of Stockbridge will be held on Monday, May 25th, 2020, starting at the Merle Manders Conference Center (111 Davis Rd, Stockbridge) at 9 am. It is a ceremonial one-mile walk from the Merle Manders Conference Center to Memorial Park and Cemetery (106 Jennings Way, Stockbridge). The walk will provide the community with a time to fellowship with others and with family members of those soldiers buried in the cemetery.
This memorial observance for the City of Stockbridge represents a unifying way for all citizens to commemorate our history, to reflect on the sacrifices made by so many and to honor the struggles and profound contributions to protecting our freedom.
The Stockbridge High School NJROTC (under the command of Commander Rice), City Officials, Citizens, and many other organizations will march to Memorial Cemetery to ceremoniously place the American Flag on the graves of 17 soldiers buried there.
Additionally, The Stockbridge High School NJROTC and volunteers will place American Flags on the graves of soldiers buried in 6 cemeteries throughout the City of Stockbridge.
