New Book Release: Education On The Real Tales from a Real Educator: Book Signing and Reading

Atlanta, GA — Dr. Chainey Cherry has been enriching the lives of young people as an educator, musician, author, and researcher in and around metro Atlanta for more than 18 years.  This proud Atlanta native has an outspoken propensity for fine arts education and cultural education for all ages.  Dr. Cherry has successfully built and reconstructed orchestra programs in urban schools by fusing classical and contemporary musical elements.

In less than a year, Dr. Cherry transformed a nearly non-existent high school orchestra program into a fully functional superior-rated ensemble. She was named Teacher of the Year 2019-2020 at Benjamin E. Mays High School in Atlanta, Ga.  Dr. Cherry received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Georgia Southern University in 2001; Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision in 2005 from the University of West Georgia; and her Specialist in Educational Leadership from Argosy University in 2009.  She attained her doctorate degree from Argosy University in 2013 with a dissertation entitled, “Teachers’ Perceptions of Fine Arts Education and How It Enhances Academic Achievement.”

Dr. Cherry has gone on to add published author to her resume, with her latest release Education on the Real; which presents seven fictitious stories through the eyes of modern-day educators.  These compelling tales will boost a range of emotions while presenting vital lessons that are beneficial to all educational stakeholders.  Perhaps the next time you see a headline on the news involving an educator, you will give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe there is more to the story than what the media is sharing.

Dr. Chainey Cherry will host a book signing/release Saturday, June 29, 2019, at the East Point Library located at 2757 Main St., East Point, Ga., from 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., The event is free and open to the public. Come receive a teacher’s perspective, a great read and the opportunity to get a signed copy of her book. To purchase Education on the Real visit:
