Guest curated by Atlanta-based P. Seth Thompson, “Racecar” is a multidisciplinary group exhibition that examines the nature of a limited and cyclical existence, and our attempts to escape it. The exhibition introduces a group of twelve artists who bring together various approaches of escapism through their chosen subject matter: memory, domesticity, fantasy, cinema, communication, and travel.
These methods offer an entryway into a world of illusion where the escape is met with its opposite. “Racecar” presents visions of entrapment, illusion, and endless repetition. Truth and fiction become allies, while meaning and purpose are confused.
The beginning becomes the end, and the end is only the beginning.
