John McCutcheon: His thirty recordings have garnered every imaginable honor including seven Grammy nominations – he’s even performed a special concert at the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
Brodsky and McCutcheon have each written enough baseball-related songs for a full album each.
Brodsky’s songs include “Death Row All Stars,” about a team from the Wyoming state penitentiary playing for their lives, and “Dock Ellis’s No-No,” about the Pirates pitcher who threw a no-hitter while (allegedly) on psychedelics.
McCutcheon has written “Talking Yogi Talk” and “Doing My Job,” which is about the speech that Cal Ripken made after he broke Lou Gehrig’s record for most consecutive games played.
