Time for our monthly charity poker tournament. This month your money will be benefiting the Atlanta Police Foundation.
As usual, It’ll be a Texas Hold’em tournament. There is a $25 buy-in to the tournament. First place will receive $500 CASH. Second Place will receive $200 CASH. Third place will receive $100 CASH. All cash prizes are provided by Moondogs. There will also be prizes raffled off during the tournament.
The tournament will be held on Thursday, February 23, at Moondogs, 3179 Peachtree Road, Atlanta Georgia, 30305. Doors open at 7 p.m. and cards fly at 8:30 p.m.
All proceeds will be donated to the Atlanta Police Foundation.
According to a press release from the Atlanta Police Foundation, the organization’s mission is to make Atlanta the safest, most inviting city for residents, workers and visitors. The goal of the Atlanta Police Foundation is to promote excellence in police service. Mobilize the community to support the Atlanta Police Department and engage in public safety. Provide and develop programs designed to create the most immediate impact on crime prevention and emergency preparedness.
Through the work of the Atlanta Police Foundation, according to their website, since 2003, there has been an increase in number of police officers on the streets and an increase in the engagement of Atlanta’s business community and neighborhood residents in fighting crime. Furthermore, Atlanta moved from being ranked the second most violent city in America to the twenty-fifth.
