Registration is now open for the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance’s 2019 Teal Trot 5K, which takes place on Saturday, September 14 at Chastain Park. The annual walk/run coincides with September’s National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month to celebrate, honor and remember gynecologic cancer survivors and patients, their families, caregivers and friends.
Presented by Northside Hospital Cancer Institute, Teal Trot is family-friendly and one of the largest ovarian cancer awareness events in the Southeast. It raises funds to support and expand the statewide education and awareness programs of the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance. The community’s fundraising efforts are critical to these programs designed to share the risks and symptoms of ovarian cancer with as many people as possible so that more women might be diagnosed in an earlier stage, which will increase their chance of survival.
Strollers and pets (on leash) are welcome. Ovarian cancer survivors and patients walk for free. Otherwise, the Early Bird registration fees start at $30 and will increase closer to the event date. To sign up, build your team and begin fundraising, please visit www.TealTrot.com.
