To celebrate the return of Louisa May Alcott’s classic Little Women to the big screen, the Waldorf Astoria Buckhead & Sony Pictures will host a Little Women Holiday Tea on Wednesday, December 18, 2019.
Writer-director Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) has crafted a Little Women that draws on both the classic novel and the writings of Louisa May Alcott, and unfolds as the author’s alter ego, Jo March, reflects back and forth on her fictional life. In Gerwig’s take, the beloved story of the March sisters – four young women each determined to live life on her own terms — is both timeless and timely. Portraying Jo, Meg, Amy, and Beth March, the film stars Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, with Timothée Chalamet as their neighbor Laurie, Laura Dern as Marmee, and Meryl Streep as Aunt March.
Throughout the month of December, the Waldorf Astoria Buckhead’s Chef Truchet will present a special holiday variation of the hotel’s traditional afternoon tea, featuring festive selections. Patrons can sip on seasonal teas including Gingerbread House and Organic Sugar Plum Fairy Tale, as well as mulled spiced wine shooters, while enjoying freshly baked pumpkin spice scones with clotted cream and jams, eggnog bread pudding, sweet potato cheesecake, and other sweets.
On Wednesday, December 18th these two worlds will collide with a special tea time full of Chef Truchet’s delectable treats and surprises from Little Women – making the perfect holiday event for women and men of all ages! It doesn’t matter if you are a Jo, Amy, Beth, Meg, Aunt March or Lawrence, you’ll love celebrating the holiday at this unique event.
