Jiréh Breon Holder, 2016-2018 Fellow in Playwriting: Reading

Jiréh Breon Holder is an Atlanta area playwright, dramaturg, and director. He is a co-founder of Pyramid Theatre Company in Des Moines, Iowa. He was recently named the winner of the Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition for his play Too Heavy for Your Pocket, which will have its world premiere at the Alliance Theatre. His productions include Some Bodies Travel, The Rules (Yale School of Drama); 50:13, The Untitled Project (Yale Cabaret); and God Will Know the Difference (Fire This Time Festival). His plays have received readings at the Kennedy Center, Roundabout Theatre, Old Globe Theatre, and Pyramid Theatre Company. Jiréh holds a BA in drama from Morehouse College and an MFA in playwriting from Yale School of Drama.
