WHAT:
The final MARTA Mondays event will take place Monday, May 20 from 4 – 6 p.m. at Midtown Station as part of the Atlanta Jazz Festival’s 31 Days of Jazz events. MARTA Mondays feature free live jazz at a different MARTA transit station on Monday afternoons. These two-hour jazz concerts provide a preview to the upcoming Atlanta Jazz Festival in Piedmont Park, Memorial Day Weekend.
WHO:
Brenda Nicole Moorer will perform at the final MARTA Monday. Moorer fuses jazz, soul and folk elements in her songwriting to create a refreshing and vintage sound. After headlining the Next Generation Stage at the 2017 Atlanta Jazz Festival, Moorer began to receive national recognition and was the recipient of the 2017 Creative Loafing Best Soul & Jazz vocalist award. She has performed with heavy jazz hitters like Christian McBride, Incognito and Brandon Williams.
